Autism Assessment for Adolescents and Adults (from age 14)
At Psycura Practice, we offer diagnostic assessments for suspected autism (so-called Autism Spectrum Disorders, ASD) in accordance with current scientific standards.
Although every person on the autism spectrum is unique, common features of ASD include significant difficulties in social interaction and communication. These are often accompanied by reduced behavioral flexibility, a strong preference for routines and structures, intense special interests, increased sensory sensitivity, or stereotyped behaviors.
The diagnosis is based on a comprehensive, disorder-specific clinical history, structured behavioral observation, and both self- and third-party assessments. Whenever possible, caregivers from childhood or close relatives are also involved in the process.
For the diagnostic evaluation, we use structured interviews, observational methods, and questionnaires that systematically assess autism-specific characteristics. If no prior assessment is available, the individual’s cognitive developmental level is also evaluated using appropriate testing procedures.
As part of the assessment, we also consider commonly co-occurring mental health conditions, particularly anxiety disorders or attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). If indicated, additional questionnaires or further diagnostic procedures may be used.
Currently, we offer autism diagnostic assessments in German.
If you are interested in a diagnostic assessment or have questions about the process, you are welcome to contact our practice via our registration form.
